Vanilla Gelato

Gelato is the wonderful, creamy Italian version of the ice cream. Here we present our own version of the vanilla gelato, exactly how our mom taught us… with a little twist of Hawaiian Black Salt and EVOO, because sometimes we do like to surprise her!

Vanilla gelato

Gelato is the wonderful, creamy Italian version of the ice cream.

Step 1

Gently whisk sugar with heavy cream, milk, and vanilla extract, until all of the sugar is well mixed.

Step 2

Put the mix in the ice cream maker for the time suggested. Gelato needs to be creamier and softer than ice cream.

Step 3

Let rest in the freezer for at least two hours before serving. Add black salt and extra virgin olive oil on top, or grated chocolate!

  • 4 cups whole milk

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 cup sugar
